We danced. We sang. We ate cake.
The talented Brandi Vezina inspired the crowd with her beautiful voice and drum. Later Coco Stevenson (with Rhonda and Nitanis singing behind) rendered a prayer song of gratitude. Many joined in with the singing. To the heart beat of the drum, the crowd stood up, joined hands and had a round dance on the spot. There were smiles all around and happy hearts. Children buzzed around, laughing, playing and trying desperately to win the children’s special cupcake auction or cakes. The Mama Bear Clan came out to escort guests from their cars to the Thunderbird House and joined in with the festivities. At the end of the evening, many left with treasures of cakes and silent auction prizes. This was a family evening with something for everyone – a time to come together as a community, a Sundance family, and to raise money for the Ceremony. This year the final tally was $4,767.21
